Construction of the Third Floor Roof Room and the Roof Deck (Jun)

Once the new addition in back was added onto the house and the original back wall was removed, construction could begin on the third floor. It was necessary to remove much of the old roof so that new joists could be added that were sufficient to support the new third floor. Then the roof room and the roof deck were added in a way so that they sat in from the edges of the house, with a small amount of roof edges around them. The roof room had evolved from a small room to the deck to quite a large room with a vaulted ceiling and a bathroom and closet. The roof deck had also evolved from a small deck to a fairly large space. (Click on a picture to see it larger. Opens in a new folder.)
