Once the crawl space area had been dug out and underpinned, the new exansion work could begin.
The first step here was to add a new basement on the back of the house as part of the new
addition. The house was expanded out by just over 13'. This new basement will also have a new
entryway with stairs from the outside and on the other side an egress window in case the space
is ever used as a bedroom or and apartment. When this new basement space is added to the
new space from the crawlspace digout, along with the original old basement, we
now have quite a large basement space. It will all be insulated with new walls and floors
will be added in most locations. There is also a new bathroom in the space along with stairs and
elevator, along with a mechanical room for the elevator and a mechanical room for the plumbing
and electricity.
