On our second day in St. Petersburg we first visited three monumental metro stations and rode the metro a couple of
times. Then we drove out to the Peterhof Gardens (over one hour away) and walked around there, overwhelmed by the huge expansive
site, by the plantings and landscaping, by the incredible and sometimes whimsical fountains, and by all the gilded (and
otherwise) statuary. From Peterhof we took a hydrofoil back to St. Petersburg city center and then visited
The Church of the Spilt Blood.
