The ship docked even further from the city center but we started on foot to get to a hotel where we could buy
a Helsinki City Card. We found the hotel and then walked to the city center along the Esplanade. We were having a hard
time trying to figure out our options but finally got on a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus (part of the city card) to the
"Rock" Church (it is very modern and carved into the rock). From there we got back on the bus and took it past several
sites including the Sibelius Monument, Olympic Stadium, the Central Railway Station, the National Opera House and others.
We got off at Senate Square and walked over to the ferry terminal and took the ferry (again part of the city card) out to
Suomenlinna, an old fortress on five islands. Once we got back we went to Senate Square and viewed Helsinki Cathedral and
the Orthodox Cathedral and then took a taxi back to the cruise ship.
